Francene Rugendorf

LMSW, Program Director

Pronouns: She/Her/Hers

Francene Rugendorf specializes in adolescent, young adult and family therapy, having worked closely with clients stepping down from hospital, residential or intensive inpatient services. She holds a bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Stony Brook University and a master’s degree in Social Work and Social Work Management from Columbia University.

Franceen’s prior experience includes time at The Child Study Center of Yale University where she worked in a family clinic focusing on children diagnosed with trauma, depression, anxiety, abuse and PTSD. She went on to open a private practice and a county-wide Mobile Mental Health Team and Crisis Clinic out of the Hudson Valley. Her team responded to crisis issues ranging from depression, emotional trauma, family crisis and suicidal ideations. These experiences and her passion for helping young adults gain autonomy and independence led her to The Dorm.

On a personal note, outside of work Francene is hiking with her dogs or cooking and baking for her family and friends.
